Clever New Linking Strategy!
by Ron Knowlton
One day I was surfing the internet and suddenly came
upon one of my articles - there on someone else's web site! This is
not the first time this has happened! But it got me thinking . . . .
how often traffic comes to my site because of one of my recent articles.
Not long ago I started writing these articles and sending
them out on a regular basis. Since then something almost magical has
occurred! I've started to see a pretty good increase in traffic to my
web site!
And the reason for that is simple, really. My articles
are finding their way on to heavily- trafficked web sites! And, while
that (in and of itself is great), that's not the best part!
Give this a thought - think of the multiplication factor
as the articles keep spreading and finding their way on to even more
web sites! The process is on-going.
That's because my articles are located on web sites
that offer free content for reprint.
I even have a page like that on my own site (http://www.soaringprofits.com/reprint.htm)
where you can find my most recent articles. People come and find what
they need and then reprint these articles!
Plus I also periodically send my articles out to various webmasters
where I think I have a good chance of getting the articles published
(and up to this point, there have been no "spam" complaints - in fact
most of these webmasters welcome this type of email).
I just love this strategy! And you will soon too!
THE NEW LINKING PROCESS
Here's the process and how it works:
1) Send out articles that you've written.
2) Soon they are reprinted in newsletters or on web
sites.
3) People read the articles.
4) Then they click on the link in the reference box
at the end of your article and go directly to your site.
5) Suddenly you have traffic coming in!
And it's all free advertising! You pay nothing for any
of this traffic . . . except for maybe the value of your time spent
writing the articles!
Now, don't get me wrong. I'm sure trading reciprocal links can work,
but with this process I don't have to trade at all.
My articles are added and the link to my site is automatic.
Nothing is required of me in return.
THE NORMAL PROCEDURE AND IT'S DISADVANTAGES
Now, had I followed the normal procedure (the one nearly
all of the internet marketing experts are recommending) this is what
I would do:
1) Write a simple email and send it to webmasters at
sites where I want a link.
2) Offer a link in return from my site.
And these are the likely responses from the webmasters
at these sites:
1) Provide the link.
2) Ignore my email
3) Turn me down flat
4) Send me a copy of their advertising rates.
So by using this common strategy, what are the chances
of success - from, say, a heavily-trafficked site?
Bleak - disappointing - discouraging - are all words that come immediately
to mind.
Particularly is this true if your site receives little or no traffic.
Most webmasters, after all, are not in business to give
traffic away for free. They want to make money.
And how do they make money?
By attracting targeted traffic to their site and then offering this
traffic something that they really want or need!
HOW TO SATISFY THIS NEED
This is the real magic of writing and sending out free
articles (content) to these webmasters!
It actually gives them something of value they can use
to promote and attract visitors to their web sites.
I, in turn, get what I really want and need - additional traffic to
my web site - meaning, in the long run, additional $$$ in my pocket!
That's what I would call a win-win situation all the way around!!!
